I know I’m not the only one in 2025 who feels like it needs the DIY spirit of the early internet. A post-social-media age requires something new.

I’ve been thinking for awhile about RSS feeds, the fediverse, and reciprocal linking. Not as nostalgia, but as a simpler way to communicate.

So, I am now on Pixelfed and Mastodon,and have fired up NetNewsWire for RSS feed reading, and it feels good. It feels a little like starting from scratch too, don’t get me wrong. But maybe this time, it doesn’t all get enshittified, as the brilliant Corey Doctorow calls it.
